Project Key wasn't Set

Problem

When establishing a Connection in Basic Mode with the Exalate version lower than 5.2.0 on Jira on-premise, you will get the following error:

Project key was not set

Cause

Connections in Basic Mode were introduced in Exalate for Jira on-premise version 5.2.0. 

Exalate pre 5.2.0 treats these connections incorrectly, due to a database discrepancy.

Solution

There are two solutions to this problem:

• Upgrade Exalate to the latest 5.2.0( or at least 5.2.0 that includes basic connection functionality).
• Delete the mode=BASIC line in the Relation database.
